Chris Boyle founded Global Access in 2002 to enable traditional retail, ecommerce, and direct selling companies reach the ever-expanding international marketplace. Chris has been a software and systems engineer for over thirty years and holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in business administration.
Chris has an extensive background in designing intricate technology systems that have pioneered innovative business models combining international ecommerce portals with multi-vendor shopping carts, landed cost engines, multi-currency payment systems, integrated freight tracking, and logistics management systems.
Chris is fluent in Japanese, and spent ten years living and working abroad and developing logistical networks of regional carriers across the world which laid the groundwork for the Global Access technology and logistics platform. Prior to Global Access, Chris held senior software engineer and director of engineering roles for industry-leading companies including Novell and WordPerfect.
In his spare time, Chris is deeply involved in efforts to support clean water projects and sustainable educational development in Africa, most notably with the group Engage Now Africa. An expert skier that can often be found enjoying the greatest snow on earth in the mountains of his native Utah, Chris also enjoys SCUBA diving, traveling to new places around the globe, and spending time with his wife, three children, and two grandchildren.
Mr. Kanasaka joined the Global Access team in 2005 and currently serves as the General Manager of the Japan office, where he oversees daily operations in Japan, including logistics, customer service, business development and warehouse operations.
Before joining Global Access, Akihiro started his career working at industry giants such as Word Perfect and Novell where he was responsible for the their channel sales strategy and execution, as well as the implementation of marketing plan. Akihiro then worked at McAfee Japan as Sales Manager and then helped launch Nielsen NetRatings Japan, an industry leader in the Internet Media Research arena in 2001. While at NetRatings, he oversaw his large team to manage several globally recognized accounts, such as Yahoo, Rakuten, ANA and TOYOTA.
Chris is the primary architect of Global Access’ integrated technology and logistics platform for international commerce. He has spearheaded Global Access’ technological innovations including local language hosted checkouts, duty and tax calculation, real-time inventory and order tracking and management, and international shipping logistics.
Chris works closely with clients, adapting Global Access’ suite of technology solutions to meet their particular challenges, enabling them to be responsive and adaptive in a rapidly evolving international market.
A member of the Global Access team since 2002, Chris received a master’s degree in computer science from Brigham Young University in 2004 and has over 20 years of experience in software development. His areas of specialization include international shipping and logistics solutions, international e-commerce platforms, database architecture, web development, and agile development methodologies.
Chris enjoys spending time outdoors with his family boating and riding ATV’s. He and his family currently reside in Orem, Utah.
Tak leads the Global Access client relations team responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of the company’s technology and logistics services to ensure the achievement of client’s global expansion business and brand objectives.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Tak came to Los Angeles after graduating university with a degree in International Studies, and soon entered the world of marketing as a senior account executive for a promotional marketing firm with $500 million in annual revenue. Tak was an integral part of their international account management team, heading up accounts such as McDonald’s, Chevron, and Ralston Purina (now Nestlé). He then contributed to a full-service international marketing and communication firm through an integrated mix of print, radio, television and online advertising, along with public relations duties.
After moving to Salt Lake City, in the late 1990’s, Tak joined a publicly-traded online direct selling firm as the director of marketing, where he oversaw various marketing programs and campaigns designed to enhance the firms rewards and loyalty program through a multitude of online and offline strategies. In early 2002, Tak met Global Access founder Chris Boyle, and believed he could help Chris provide solutions to emerging US companies, working towards his vision of a word of international commerce without borders or boundaries.
Tak has been a part of Global Access since the beginning, and has applied his deep understanding of the multicultural and multilingual space alongside his unique mix of experience in account services and strategic marketing to the firm’s clients. Tak helps Global Access’ clients understand how products and brands can best organically integrate into specific markets to promote tremendous returns on their investments. His precedent-setting innovative as well as cost and expense savings solutions as clients’ advocate have been helping them tremendously, leading to the development of long-term strategic partnerships with them.
Tak is an avid golfer with a single digit handicap. He resides in Alpine, Utah.
